Bio/Description

I'm Catarina, a PhD candidate in the department of Spanish and Portuguese. I am interested in sound studies and queer studies, so I am studying a Brazilian poet from the 70's through these frames, to propose a new interpretation of her work.

I did my undergrad and my masters at the Pontíficia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), where I studied creative writing and literature.

On campus, I love the Richard Serra's sculpture The Hedgehog and the Fox. Not that I spend time inside of it, but I do like to pass through it. Sometimes I even change my way, just to pass by there.

I give great advice on anything related to romance languages, literature, creative writing, cinema. I guess things related to the humanities and the arts would be my forte. I could also help if you want to know more about queer studies. Leaving academics matters aside, if you need advice about strategies to balance writing and relaxing, or if you just want someone to talk to, I really enjoy a good conversation over coffee. As a writer myself, listening to other's life experiences is something I really enjoy doing.

I am here if you need someone to talk to! I am very interested in cinema, the arts, languages, etc., so these are topics I am never tired of talking about.
