My name is Ha-Joon, I’m a Ph.D. student in Sociology and Social Policy. I study social stratification with a focus on education. I am interested in things that affect children’s academic achievement and I am focusing on how parenting styles differ by social class. I also study how the credentials people receive shape their later life chances and choices -- career, family formation, etc.
I grew up in South Korea and got my undergraduate degree at Yonsei University in Seoul. During college, I spent a year at the University of Chicago as an exchange student and after college, I spent another year there getting my MA.
I usually spend my day in the office in Wallace hall but when the weather's nice, I would sit out on the lawn.
I know ethnic groceries around Princeton that is not on the route 1, so if you need some tips, come find me.
I hold cooking classes at Yeh college during the semester. If you get bored by the dining hall food sometimes, check out my classes and we'll make and eat something nice together.
