Bio/Description

I'm Jaime, I'm a senior from Bellevue, Washington, and I’m studying Neuroscience with a certificate in Cognitive Science and possibly a Linguistics minor!

On campus, I’m a research assistant studying and conducting my own research projects on language development in the Baby Lab with Professor Casey Lew-Williams. I’m also a Peer Health Adviser with experience working with nutrition, mental and emotional health, and the Committee on Campus Recreation. I also really enjoy working on several community service projects, such as volunteering in the Eating Disorder Unit at Princeton Medical Center and teaching swim lessons to kids with special needs.

During my freshman year swim team training trip in Florida, I remember it pouring rain while we were racing outside. The women’s swim team, the men’s swim team, and the entire FAU team just danced in the rain together. It was such a great memory that opened the door to show me how many lifelong memories you’ll make in college.

I enjoy doing art and photography in my free time, and I love to spend time just chatting or working with friends at Coffee Club in New College West! It’s always so comforting, bright, and lively.

I’ve had a lot of experience with balancing wellness (sleep, nutrition, mental health) beyond the classroom. From my work as a PHA to experience on an athletics team, I’m familiar with the resources we have on campus to support students. I believe in prioritizing health while balancing courses and extracurriculars so that you can continue to find balance and success.

It’s important to remember that everyone’s balanced life looks different, and to take things at a pace that works for you! And of course, if you find yourself struggling with balance, it’s always okay to ask for help, especially with so many available peers, faculty, and resources here on campus.
