Bio/Description

Hello! I am a Lecturer in the Molecular Biology Department. I earned my Ph.D. in Cancer Biology from University Wisconsin Madison and my BS in Microbiology and Immunology from McGill University in Montréal. Growing up, I lived in New Haven, Denver, Little Rock, Milwaukee, and Madison before settling in Philadelphia. I take the train to campus each day and am friends with all of the conductors on the Dinky. In the lab, my research focuses on how the Piwi protein regulates stem cell self-renewal and differentiation. I am also very passionate about incorporating leadership and teamwork skills in the laboratory. Outside of the lab, I enjoy growing tomatoes, eggplants, and habaneros in my garden. I look forward to getting to know you!
