Bio/Description

Hi everyone! I'm Mahya, a senior from Toronto, Canada studying Molecular Biology with a certificate in Applications of Computing and Quantitative and Computational Biology.

I am the founder and president of the Princeton Association of Women in STEM (PAWS), am on the board of the Princeton Society of Philosophy, I cover research across campus for the Daily Princetonian, and conduct research at Prof. Rabinowitz's lab in the Department of Chemistry.

One of my favorite memories from my first year at Princeton was exploring the various buildings and departments on campus with friends I met during orientation. Each building has its own unique character, ranging from the enchanting feel of a Harry Potter movie to the futuristic vibe of the NASA headquarters. It was incredible to experience the diverse architectural styles and atmospheres. As someone coming from a big city, I also enjoyed occasional trips to New York City. It is wonderful how easy it is to travel from Princeton to two major cities nearby—New York and Philadelphia.

I love going on long walks, playing board games, and exploring the beautiful nature around Princeton. I also enjoy visiting the stores on Nassau Street and spending time outside with friends, especially with some of my favorite snacks like sushi, ice cream, and boba!

During my time at Princeton, I have been heavily involved in research and would be happy to share my experiences in this field. I am also passionate about promoting inclusion across campus and am always eager to discuss this important topic. Additionally, I am happy to chat about being premed, civic engagement on campus, or even where to find the best ice cream in Princeton! Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

I am so excited to meet all of you and would love to chat about life or Princeton or science or anything really, so feel free to reach out with any questions!
