I’m Malia, a junior from Paso Robles, CA studying History with a certificate in Gender and Sexuality Studies, English.
I continue pursuing my love of stories and design as the co-Head editor of Print Design for The Daily Princetonian. I’m also involved in Matriculate, Yeh College Council, and Filipino Club which have all been amazing opportunities to meet new people and have a positive impact on the Princeton community and beyond!
I’m a lover of sports (especially basketball), so having watch parties with my friends for when both the women and men’s basketball teams made the NCAA tournament, was a highlight of my freshman year. To this day, my friends and I try to go to as many sports games as we can to support our fellow Princeton Tigers!
My favorite spots on campus are probably Chancellor Green because I love the stained-glass window and the SPIA fountain in the spring when all the flowers are blooming! I have a list of the top 100 books you must read in your life that I’m trying to finish and love doodling (especially little cartoon Yetis). Movie nights with my friends either in the dorm or at the Garden Theater are super fun as well!
I’m an expert at adapting and making the most of new situations! At Princeton you will have the opportunity to explore new interests by joining clubs, taking classes, auditioning for a group, and more. However, it can be overwhelming how many choices of activities you have, especially if you want to take advantage of them all! Whether it be encouraging you to reach out to professors, connecting you with on campus resources, or sorting through clubs with you, I want to help you have a fulfilling freshman year!
I cannot wait for our first chat and all the ones after! I’m a resource for YOU. No problem is too small, and no conversation is too long. If you see me out and about on the Princeton campus, please say hi! And give me a high five, that’s another thing I’m an expert at!
