Research Interests: Literature, race and citizenship, cultural studies

Pedro Meira Monteiro is the chair of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. He is affiliated with the Program in Latin American Studies and the Brazil LAB at PIIRS. He is the author of several books, and has curated exhibitions and cultural activities in international literary festivals and museums. He’s been at Princeton since 2002, and will co-teach a PIIRS Global Seminar in Brazil in 2025.
